Double suction pump widely used in irrigation engineering, the city water supplyand drainage, water inter-basin etc, it is a kind of important hydraulic machinery, itsoperation characteristics of pump station project cost, operation, maintenance andother important influence. On the double suction pump operation characteristicfurther study is not only of theoretical significance, and has important practical valueengineering. Due to the double suction pump general flow is bigger, head higher, withthe big power, is a kind of energy dissipation larger equipment. Therefore, the use ofdepartment of the efficiency of the double suction pump have higher demand, anddomestic currently produces the double suction pump efficiency are generally not toohigh, especially some of the low nsdouble suction pump, the efficiency is low, somepump efficiency of less than70%. Therefore, to raise the efficiency of double suctionpump, appear particularly important. As countries in future investment in waterconservancy intensified efforts, double suction pump output will further increase, sothe to double suction pump performance improvement, pump products for savingenergy and reducing consumption is of great significance.In recent years, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology has beenwidely and successfully used to pump design and analysis, in the scientific researchand engineering field in a wide range of applications. In order to accuratelyunderstand pump flow components within to influence on the performance of thepump, this paper, based on the pump design theory, using CFD software doublesuction pump flow components were analyzed and studied.Double suction pump for the main flow components diffuser and half a spiral suckthe suction chamber, this article mainly aims at volute cut-water and half the spiralsuction chamber cut-water (nose begins) is analyzed. Through the CFD software, tothe spiral suction chamber in different every cut-water setting angle, under differentworking conditions in the constant analysis; And every cut-water to pump in thedifferent angle was laid in design working conditions at the unsteady numericalsimulation analysis; The suction chamber of different every cut-water, in differentworking conditions is the steady analysis.Through the analysis of the results of numerical calculation, found that when thecut-water use different between every cut-water setting angle was laid, theperformance of the pump are changes, especially in partial big flow condition, the cut-water of the pump was angle on effect is obvious, its influence mainly becauseevery cut-water was caused by the fluctuation of the angle of the change of the gapbetween the pump effects, in addition to the change of the suction chamber was throatarea, at the top of the impact of the cut-water loss influence on the performance of thepump relatively small; For every cut-water suction chamber, the cut-water of pumpshaft distance between the distance change, the pump’s performance also have certaineffect, big flow condition in effect is obvious, its influence mainly because thecut-water of fluid flow and inhaled the role of interior speed of flow from differentparts of the interaction. This paper used for the model of the pump, volute cut-waterin every cut-water in isolation was the size of the Angle and inhaled indoor everycut-water distance of pump shaft distance size, these parameters are a good value. Thesuction chamber from the pump suction cut-water shaft distance should be the sizeaccording to different pump to determine its value.This paper analysis shows that, to double suction pump flow components withinthe further analysis, be helpful for the improvement of the performance of the pump,the pump product energy consumption and market competitiveness have help.
