In the vigorous development of public transport priority strategy of our country,the BRT as a kind of high efficient, safe, economic and environmental protection ofthe public transport mode has been public recognition and generally accepted. BRTpriority of passage in intersections is an important part of BRT priority, is also animportant control node in BRT operation and move. However, BRT priority of passagecontrol technology in the very great degree are still remain in the optimal fixed timing,actuated control and other passive priority and active priority control strategy level atpresent. These control methods mechanical, bad of real-time, big of error, especiallyto the service requirements of different cannot differentiate between the BRT vehicles.According to these control problems, subject introduction the multi-modes model,intelligent control technology to flexible and real-time control BRT priority ofpassage in intersections.This paper based on BRT system network planning and construction projects inLanzhou city, priority of passage for BRT at intersection as the control objective, inorder to improve road traffic order, alleviate congestion, improve BRT service,optimize the traffic structure, and research BRT priority passage measures andmethods, analysis the BRT priority passage control problems at intersection.Multi-modes control method is used for BRT priority aimed at solve the uneventraffic flow phenomenon in time distribution. Multi-modes control method includesphase skipping mode, green extension and red truncation mode, optimized fixedtiming mode. This method can accord the size of traffic flow, given a proper controlpattern, so as to adapt to the change of traffic flow. Compared to the optimized fixedtiming control, multi-modes control model can reduce the BRT delay time and BRTstopped rate by VISSIM software simulation.The traditional BRT priority of passage at intersections control strategy can notdistinguish BRT priority service levels, is blind for BRT vehicles priority. Artificialneural network and fuzzy control algorithm are applied to adaptive control aimed toBRT priority passage to intersection by conditional. According to the BRT capacity,BRT delay time and the queue length of the non-BRT phase, given BRT urgency ofthrough the intersection. In the case of a valid distinction BRT vehicles level ofservice, reduce the BRT delay time reasonably.In the depth study of multi-modes control and adaptive priority control method,and based on BRT planning lanes of Dunhuang road, analyzes the application effect ofthese two methods in arterial intersections. The simulation results show that multi-modes control model is a large degree of reduce the BRT delay time, adaptivecontrol model is distinction BRT vehicles service level, reflects the characteristics ofthe humanization. Provide a reference design method for BRT arterial coordinatecontrol.
