In nowadays, energy shortage and environmental pollution are the two major issues people are most concerned about. In order to solve these two issues, people are looking for new, renewable energy. Solar energy catches the fancy of most people for its advantages of large resource reserves, wide distribution, and no pollution. Solar energy photovoltaic power generation is one important direction for the utilization of solar energy.The capacity of PV power generation system installation has a rapid growth in recent years, and the global PV market installation capacity has reached18.2GW until in2010, an increase to139%compared to in2009. As an increase number of PV power plant, more biger than before, increasing PV power plant in real-time, efficient detection, maintenance and management is of utmost importance.In this paper, according to the project of solar grid-connected photovoltaic power plant in Qiqihar University of Communication and Electronic Engineering, design a power plant monitoring system. The main topic of this paper is to study the following aspects:(1) Firstly, introduced the domestic and international background of PV power generation, and the virtual instrument technology and the development environment of LabVIEW software.(2) Presented the classification and composition of the solar photovoltaic power generation system and the construction of a solar grid-connected photovoltaic power plant in Qiqihar University.(3) The solar photovoltaic power plant monitoring system mainly includes two parts:the hardware and software design. Descript the hardware design of the PV power plant monitoring system detailed, including measuring the Hall-voltage sensor and Hall-current sensor outputted by the solar cell, the radiation sensor and PT100temperature sensor and its hardware circuit and signal conditioning circuit. Then introduced a data acquisition device of power station monitoring system, the PCI-6221data collecting card.(4) The software design of system has achieved by using of LabVIEW software, achieving the functions of signal acquisition graphical display, characteristic analysis, data printing, web browsing and data waveform real-time save, and so on.(5) The test system can’t be separated from data storage, query and analysis. A detailed description of the database operation which is combined by LabSQL and Access has been presented.(6) Finally, this article describes how to measure data network share, presented the data graphic display, data storage, data queries in this system, and the results of simulation. Achieving the function of photovoltaic power plants monitoring system, and proposed someplace improved in this article.
