In recent years, with the development of vehicle electronic control technology, electronically controlled diesel engine fuel injection system has become the main trend of development. However, domestic research and develop of electronic control systems of diesel engine rely mainly on foreign technology, which is in some level caused by the lack of supporting tools. This project is committed to design and develop supporting tools in the process of develop electronic control system. This paper focuses on the calibration tool CalTool and off-line management tools PgmDesk.Calibration tool CalTool which is based on ASPA standard offers capability of calibration and real-time monitoring based on CCP, compatible with ASAP2database; powerful file management features to meet the increasingly complex data processing needs caused by increasingly complex electronic control system; mirrored calibration by the host-side memory is set, to increase data access speed to ensure data security; with a flexible multi-channel monitoring data set functions, it can ensure real-time monitoring. In order to improve the efficiency of data updating and reprogramming in EOL phase, EOL tool Pgmdesk based on BootLoader is developed. By defining a new application layer protocol, time wasted on wanting for response is cut down; as a result, time of data transmission is shortened. CRC mechanism is included, which would largely improve correctness of data transmssion. A Copy page and nested data storage was used in ECU, as well as Seed&Key algorithm to distinguish assess levels in order to upgrade data security. Finally, through the establishment of mathematical model, the communication efficiency of the two tools were tested to verify its efficiency, but also some issues need to be improved is put forward.
