With the fast growing number of automobile, more and more attention has paidto the increasing worse air pollution by the cars emission. It’s the resonsibility ofthe whole society not only the automobile companys and drivers work together toreduce the car emission of exhaust gas.Now the EGR system have got an extensiveapplication as an effective techniuqe to decrease the automobile emission. As theelectronic EGR sytem, more and more new elctronic products are applying on theautomotives. Therefore a new development method and platfrom for the automobileare in great need and expectation.The study focuses on the following aspects:Firstly, in the paper the harm of automotive emission, the importance andurgent to decearse the emission of exhaust gas are descripted, some methods thatwere used to reduce the emission are also simply introduced.Nowdays thedevelopment of automobile software in our country still mainly using the traditonalwaterfall mode which means most of the code is still write by software engineers.However this is no longer adapt to the rapid develop speed of current automobile ECUproducts. Now there are many populer mode-based development platform, each onecontains respectively special advantage. For the sake of orientation to the populartrend, in this paper ASCET which is developed by the ETAS Company is choosed asthe development platform. ASCET is a kind of module based tools produced by theETAS Company for the software development of cars according to OSEK/VDXstandard. This tools depends on a module based development method,and satisfiedthe car electronics product development’s request in the time、 efficiency andfunction,and also simplified the comlexity of system design. And then thedevelopment process of the EGR system is indicated, the electronic EGR system isanalysied and the ECU hardware and EGR valve that mainly used are alsodescripted.Through the analysis of the electronic EGR control algorithm,the wholemodel of the EGR system was realized by the ASCET platform which mainlycomposed by three modles:the mass flow control module、 the EGR valve controlmodule and also the checking module.After the whole module of the EGR system wasbuilt up,the control algorithm code can be auto generated by the ASCET-SE.Thefuction of the electronic EGR system that was built was checked through the benchtest,the effection of the EGR system to the decrease ofNO Xemission and the fuel wastage are checked.Lastly, this paper summarizes some harvest and significant meaning which isgained from the study.Also some difficult problems needed to be solved is brought upand a brief prospest has been done.
