A Research On The Relationship Between Urbanized Small Electric Vehicle, Form Feature And Image

In2009, with surpassing America as the biggest production and marketingcountry, China offically became a big power auto country. However, with the numberof cars in China’s rapid growth in the past a few years, a series of problems such ascongestion, automobile exhausts pollution, etc. became more and moredistressing.The urbanized small electric vehicle, which is born to deal with suchproblems, meets future citizen’s basic travel requirements in size, function andenvironmental protection. Function, body layout, and other differences leads to agreat diversity in design of such vehicle provided by each major manufacturer. Thisarticle which is based on Kansei Engineering would conduct research and explore thecorrespondence between the appearance characteristics of urbanized small electricvehicle with people’s perceptual image on it,hoping to provide some references forthe urbanized small electric vehicle design.The research methods mainly includequestionnaires and statistical methods. First of all, from the psychological aspects ofpeople’s image of urbanized small electric vehicle, choose the perceptual vocabulariesby factor analysis method. Second, select important design factors that influencingpeople’s feeling mostly and then employ qualitative and quantitative analyses todefine the style of the product. Finally it’s the questionnaire investigation using thecombination of images and designing factors, and the multiple regression analysis ofthe relationsip between images and design factors. The result shows that sixrepresentative images of urbanized small electric vehicle influence people’sperceptions mostly, and adjusting some design factors can increase or reduce someaesthetic perceptions. The most important urbanized small electric vehicle’s formfeatures are the shape of side windows, the type of the side windows,The ratio of height and length,the length of greenhouse and the shape of the Crosssectional.In this study, Kansei engineering theory is applied to urbanized small electricvehicle design. Exploring the relationship between urbanized small electric vehicle’form feature and image, and proposing on the urbanized small electric vehicleemotional design have some practical significance to the domestic urbanized smallelectric vehicle design.
