With the arrival of the21st century, China now has entered the aging society, Now China’s elderly population has reached132million, and at an average of3.30%growth rate, In addition, our country has about60million all kinds of disabled people, a lot of the elderly and handicapped make auxiliary old existence and the auxiliary handicapped issue become a significant social problems. The introduction of the service robot and development can effectively improve the quality of life of the elderly and the disabled, and then for our country’s development and the stability of society have a positive role.Climbing stairs electric wheelchair is one kind of the service robots, and it is the elderly and disabled peoples’indispensable rehabilitation and transport, To use a wheelchair old people and disabled people can physical exercise and participate in social activities. China’s wheelchair developed more slowly, it has not mature products about stairs climbing wheelchair in domestic. Along with the development of the social productive forces, and the continuous improvement of people’s living standard. Considering the convenience of the elderly and the disabled peoples’traveling, researching and developing a climb stairs function wheelchair has the significant practical significance.For such problem a star wheel climbing institutions and electric wheelchair combination principle solution has been raised in this paper. And with CAD, CAE, and other advanced design method to rely on, completed stairs-climbing electric wheelchair structure design, dynamic simulation and the static analysis.With considering the safety, climb stairs stability, simple operation and control ease of considering designs a three star wheels stairs-climbing device in this paper. One of the star wheels is wheel motor. The three star wheels stairs-climbing device climbs up the obstacles, and the wheel motor driving on the ground, which realizes the function of climb building and the electric wheelchair function organic union.Secondly, according to the specific situation of the design, this paper completed the kinematics and dynamics modeling analysis,3d model and the overall structure design using the virtual prototype technology. In the part of modeling analysis, to building mode and analyzing the ground driving and climbing up the obstacles. It improves the safety and provides a theory basis for the design of control system. In the structural design part, the overall structure and the details of the stairs-climbing electric wheelchair are designed, which makes stairs-climbing electric wheelchair’s structure become rationalization.Finally, introduction of CAE software for simulation analysis, ADAMS was applied for dynamics simulation, which Verify the feasibility of stairs-climbing electric wheelchair. At the same time ANSYS software was applied for static analysis of key parts, in order to ensure the reliability of the work and provide the basis for the optimization design.
