In the micro mechanical system, the transmission mechanisms mainly transfer smallpower with small volume and light weight. To make the functions of the micro or miniatureelectromechanical products more effective and economical, it is very important to research themicro or miniature transmission mechanism and reducers.In recent years, a Space Curve Meshing Wheel (SCMW) based on novel meshing theoryhas been invented and researched. The theory of SCMW has been developed, and themanufacturing technology of the mechanism has been researched. By analyzing theadvantages and disadvantages of reducers both at home and abroad, and combining with thecharacteristics of the SCMW mechanism, a novel micro reducer named Coplanar MultiaxialOutput Micro-reducer is designed.First of all, the SCMW mechanism can mesh at any angle from0deg to180deg withlarge transmission ratio in small space. Series and parallel structure forms of the CoplanarMultiaxial Output Micro-reducer are introduced, which are named Micro-reducer withMulti-output Shafts Distributed in Regular Polygon Form and the Parallel Multiaxial OutputMicro-reducer.Second, to an application area of SCMW, the design method for a novel micro-reducerwith multi-output shafts distributed in regular polygon form is proposed. The formulas oftransmission ratio and parameter t are corrected. To design the SCMW mechanisms of thereducer, the primary design parameters are determined by research and experience, and theformulas of center distances are derived. By defining Reference Regular Polygon (RRP) andMeshing Radius, an analytical model of the RRP is established. The geometric dimensions ofthe reducer mainly depend on the RRP. With the side length formulas of the RRP derivedfrom its model, the novel micro-reducer is determined. The simplicity and effectiveness of thepresented formulas are demonstrated by a series of computational simulations.Finally, with given power and rotate speed, a Micro-reducer with Multi-output ShaftsDistributed in Regular Triangle Form is designed in detail, including dynamic parameterscalculation, the structure design of transmission mechanism, axis and case body. The microreducer can assemble correctly with noninterference and transfer continuously and correctlyin the three dimensional simulation.
