| Air filter as an important component of the engine intake system, which quality impacts on reliability and quality of engine directly. At present filter paper filter and non-woven filter are applied widely, which can not meet requirements to new engine. This paper proposes the application of air filter products with micro wood fiber as a new type of filter element material, through the analysis of the characteristics of the air filter element to explore a new filter element which can improve the overall performance of the air filter. Firstly filtration efficiency and filtration resistance of air filter in dynamic filtration and static filtration are obtained by numerical simulation method.Based on the main parameters of the micro wood fiber performance, the paper establishes the simplified mathematical description of filtration theory of fiber. Through combined with inertial effect, blocking effect and diffusion effect of a single micron wood fiber, deduced mathematical formula of the filter resistance and filters filter efficiency. Then established the random distribution3D model of fiber, setted the appropriate grid and boundary conditions and chosed the appropriate solver and control equations, getting the filter physical parameters of the numerical simulation results. Finally confirmed the influencing factor of the filter resistance and filters filter efficiency.Then the test is performed utilizing self-designed flow characteristic test bed of air filter. select test system sensors, data acquisition modules and other hardware. Using this detection system to micron wood fiber air filter testing, lastly theory and test proves that the air filter with micro wood fiber has high filtration efficiency and low filtration resistance and the numerical simulation method can be consistent with the test very well. |
