| Along with the social and economic development, communications between countries and districts become more frequent. In order to entertain guests at home and abroad and highlight the local charm, state hotel came into being. State hotel belongs to resort hotels. Apart from the superlative Beijing’s Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, some other cities in China now have their own local state hotels. China has also established the China State Hotel Association. The State Hotel’s role has become increasingly visible. As a very special place of receiving foreign guests and VIP, it represents the image and custom of the place to a certain extent. For both foreign guests and domestic guests, the state hotel is an advanced platform or window for showing and publicizing regional features, a piece of card which represents this place, so the external landscape is particularly important. How to make guests understand the style and features of the place in a short time will largely depend on the landscape of the State Hotel. Exceptional landscape can not only enhance the value and quality of the hotel itself, leave a deep impression to guests, make the guests happy, promote communications and cooperation between the two sides, and also be beneficial to receive investment and promote local development. Thus, the quality of landscape designing of the state hotel is related to the local image. Brilliant landscape design can attract more guests to come, grace the local image, and publicize itself widely. Apart from the characteristic which resort hotels have, the state hotel is also peculiar and mysterious due to its receiving foreign guests and leaders. So the landscape of state hotel must be elegant, tranquil and cozy. It should be characteristic and reflect the local features but not mimic completely. Only in this way can it be picturesque and attractive.Wenzhou Peninsula Resort Hotel of this study belongs to five star-rated hotel which can receive foreign guests and leaders of nations. It is open to public when there are no foreign guests and leaders of nations. Wenzhou was known as "Lu Cheng" in ancient times. When the city started to be built, Guo Pu, scholar of geomantic principles, selected an appropriate area as the foundation of the city. The landscape designing of this hotel is on the basis of local history and culture in Wenzhou. We investigated local plants, analysed the environment of the plot and proposed a pattern of "landscape merged with mountains, waters and plants" combined with Chinese traditional geomantic principles and local historic and geographic conditions in Wenzhou. In this way, a valuable and scenic area absorbed in nature was recreated. The new plot is surrounded by hills that form concave terrain. Hills nearby are decorated with plants which can block external disturbance and provide a picturesque and tranquil environment for the hotel buildings. Through the research on the case of landscape designing of Wenzhou state hotel, we explored how to fully utilize the plot of buildings, create tranquil and cozy environment, amend the traffic in the district, optimize the configuration of hotel, promote the image and style of state hotel, summarize the method of landscape designing of state hotel with local characteristic, put forward suggestions for future landscape designing of state hotel. |
