Chinalco Luoyang Copper Corporation invested more than2billion yuan in the construction of the Electronic Copper Belt Plant to increase its market competitiveness from2006to2009.Two roughing mills from the rolling workshop are typical large equipment with heavy equipment foundation, of which the construction process is complex. The foundation is bulky, heavy-loaded, with embedded parts and high precision. Its construction process includes main technologies for heavy industrial equipment foundation such as heavy plate support system and mass concrete casting. It covers a wide range, and characterizes the heavy industrial equipment foundation. In this paper, the quality control methods and key points in the foundation construction process of the No.2roughing mill for the Electronic Copper Belt Plant were investigated, to ensure the quality and safety in the project construction, and to provide the conformal foundation for the succeeding equipment installation and operation. It is hoped that the summary of quality management process and control methods for the large heavy-loaded equipment foundation process will provide guidance for the similar foundation process in the future.
