The invention of aluminum ladle cleaning machine achieves the mechanization andautomation of cleaning aluminum slag and electrolyte, reduces labor intensity, and improvesthe working environment and production efficiency, therefore it obtains the preliminaryapplication in the electrolytic aluminum industry. However, open-loop valve control systemwith the quantitative pump is mainly adopted in the current domestic market, so it is difficultto meet the working requirements. There will always be some mistakes during process, forexample, getting stuck cutter, damaging the cutter head and ladle inner wall and so on. Inaddition, it reduces production efficiency by artificial auxiliary cleaning sometimes.The problems about original ladle cleaning machine are analyzed in detail, and then bythe designing of hydraulic control system and the selection of appropriate control strategy, thereasonable cutting speed and cutting torque and moderate cutter driving power and speed isused to ensure stable cutting in nonlinear time-varying load work condition, therefore it solvesbasically the problem about getting stuck cutters, further reduces the power of the hydraulicsystem, and improve the efficiency. This design provides the theory basis for improving theworking performance of ladle cleaning machine and has important practical significance.The paper firstly discusses the development situation about the ladle cleaning machine athome and abroad, concludes the problems about the hydraulic system of ladle cleaningmachine, briefly introduces the significance of topic research, and identifies the researchcontent of the paper.Secondly, hydraulic control system is designed by analyzing the functional requirementsof the aluminum ladle cleaning machine, in additional, kinematics and dynamics analysis forthe whole system are made basing on aluminum ladle cleaning machine work condition andload characteristic. According to the actual conditions the main parameters of the hydraulicsystem are computed, the natural frequency of the system is estimated, the scheme of thehydraulic system and reasonable choice of hydraulic components are made, and risingtemperature value of the hydraulic system is checked.Thirdly, AMESim software is used to built the propulsion system model and simulateclosed loop speed control system. The simulation results suggest it is needed to use PIDcontrol and Fuzzy-PID control to improve the control performance and quality through the AMESim/Matlab joint simulation. The simulation results show that PID control reduces staticerror of the system and adjusting time and improves the stability of the system and Fuzzy-PIDcontrol has good effect in improving the system overshooting wave. In conclude, comparedwith PID control, Fuzzy-PID control shows the more superior control performance in trackingsystem.Finally, the paper is summarized and makes the expectation for future research work.
