The submersible pump is a kind of universally applied machinery. It has large amountand is wide in variety, larger requirement for market. But now the efficiency of pump in themarket is not high enough, so it still has a lot of space of ascension. At present, with the CFDsimulation technology, parameters can be improved by the simulation results. The designconcep of a shell is multi-purpose can produce the submersible pump with different function.It can meet market demand, has large research and economic significance.This topic put forward a design thought that a shell is multi-purpose, the theory researchof matching of the submersible pump impeller and fluid director has impact the performanceof the pump, it also research the areas ratio principle of the centrifugal pump.The maincontents are as follows:1. The paper deduces the characteristic equation of impeller and diffuser, and provides themethod to determine the best working situation of pump.2. Study the relation between area ratio Y and ratio speed, and offers the calculationmethod for pump’s area ratio.3. Making a hydraulic design by the submersible pump A and the submersible B. Usingthe function of3d modeling of Pro/e software, make3d modeling by the full port of thesubmersible pump and use the ICEM dividing the mesh.4. Numerical simulation and performance prediction of the submersible pumps wascarried on Fluent software, then the velocity field and pressure field whining the impeller anddiffuser analyzed respectively on different working operations, such as0.8Q、1.0Q1.2Q.Calculating the hydraulic losses of the fluid director, select the right areas ratio, the same fluiddirector can collocate the different fluid director, it can get efficient pump,this research couldbroaden the scope of the submersible pumps with saving development time and cost. So thesubject has great practical value.
