Bridges are crucial components of highway networks. In recent years, there has been growing awareness about the problems associated with existing old bridges. With the increasing time, increasing traffic and loads, and external environment, many bridges are used in spite of the wound and diseases, some of which are even in outstanding danger. By considering and analyzing various factors (index) in the condition evaluation of reinforced concrete bridge, an improved approach analytic hierarchy process based on grey fuzzy theory was established to evaluate the actual condition of existing reinforced concrete bridges. In view of this, the model provides effectiveness evaluate index weight system based on analytic hierarchy process which consists to get a scale comparison marker (1to9) for various factors of the bridge that can determining the weight of each factor after confirming these weights by the verification of the consistency ratio CR. Then uses grey fuzzy theory to calculate the evaluation weight scientifically, to makes the qualitative analysis of influencing factors into quantitative analysis through the whitening weight functions, to reduce the subjectivity of factor and to make the evaluation of the target model more accurate, objective, and scientific. This model reasonably solves the uncertainly that may exist in the assessment process caused by the bridge checker’s subjective assessment and it is a good way to keep know the state of the bridge infrastructure. Finally, a case study was conducted, using the model with an actual bridge. Running results of calculating show the feasibility, stability, accurate, effectivenesss of the evaluation model which will be helpful to provide theoretical basis for the evaluation of bridges.
