With the deepening of reform of the electricity business, In particular, the continuous development of the electricity market prompted power system ancillary services market to the great strides, Automatic generation control(AGC) regulation performance of the controlled unit occupies a very important position in the power system ancillary services market, therefore, it is significance to accurate monitoring of assessment of ancillary services provided by the automatic power controlled unit(AGC). In this paper, the load tracking curve to determine the effective calculating interval by studying the adjustment process of the AGC Unit, and then, adjust performance of existing AGC units in-depth study on this basis. Its strengths and weaknesses of fundamental analysis is presented. According to the characteristics of the unit load tracking curve, the calculation method to calculate the AGC units adjust the rate, latency, regulation accuracy and adjust the capacity is determined. Above the theoretical analysis, this paper carried out a numerical example, it can be known that in this approach to more accurate detection calculated on the regulation of performance of the AGC unit, and thus better able to a fair and accurate assessment for the contribution of AGC unit to the grid.
