In the process of hoisting thin-wall equipments, we generally use lattice spreader to increase the rigidity of the equipment. Although the lattice spreader is very common in engineering application, but until now, not many people did research about the design of lattice spreader and the choosing of the lifting point combination, the experience design method is still the most common design method in the engineering application. With engineering construction demand more and more safety and economy, the experience method can’t meet the engineering requirement, to study design of lattice spreader and choose lifting point combination, therefore, has important meaning in engineering application.In this thesis, the method of designing lattice spreader and choosing lifting point combination is presented according to the structure of lattice spreader, and assistance design system of lattice spreader is also developed based on the APDL and OpenGL. The main research works of this thesis are as follows:(1) To study lattice spreader modeling. The idea of multi-step design by finite element method is presented. According to the feature of hoisting system, the solving method of below lift points load on the lattice spreader is also presented in this thesis.(2) To study lifting point combination choosing. In order to solve the security problem in the process of repeated use, by researching about use condition of lattice spreader, practical choosing method of lattice spreader is presented in this thesis.(3) Developing the assistance design system of lattice spreader. To raise design efficiency of lattice spreader, this thesis proposes a method of parametric modeling for lattice skeleton, plate lug, and hoisting system, on that basis, the assistance design system is developed.Finite element analysis method has important meaning to design and choose of lattice spreader, the result of research shows that ANSYS can make solutions of complex structures easy, assistance design system not only can improve the design efficiency, but also can ensure the security of design for the lattice spreader.
