With the development of the national economy and the increase of traffic, bridge, which is the key project, play an increasingly important role in the traffic. Consequently, the construction level of bridge should be improved, so how to build bridge efficiently and safely is a hot research issue.This thesis is based on the40.7m railway prestressed concrete simply-supported box girder of the main bridge of Wuhan Tianxingzhou Changjiang River Rail-cum-Road Bridge, and expatiate on the techniques of using travelling formwork to erect the prestressed concrete simply-supported box girder in detail. With considering the topographical, geological and hydrological conditions at the bridge site and the design of bridge pier, the girder and formwork integrated travelling formwork was selected for the erection. The design, fabrication, assembling, construction, monitoring and dynamic load test of the traveling formwork are comprehensively introduced, and the study results and construction experience are summarized. This thesis draw the result that this formwork has the prominent characteristics of great rigidity, light dead weight and good appearance quality. In addition, the steel main girder can be used as formwork which saves the work of installing formworks and steel struts, and the traveling formwork is able to fulfill the task of presetting camber and self-demoulding, which is particularly suitable for the construction of the bridge with wide piers and will play a great role in the practice of bridge construction in the future.Dynamic test was implemented on the girder between05#pier and06#pier of Wuhan Tianxingzhou Changjiang River Rail-cum-Road Bridge, and a lot of index was tested, such as the amplitude of the girder and the head of the pier, the acceleration of the girder, dynamic coefficient and the bearing displacement, the safety performance of train and the dynamic displacement of the rail. The test data show that the girder could satisfy the requirement of safety operation under the speed of80km/h.
