Study On The Market Share Of Transport Mode In Inter-city Passenger Transportation Of Chengdu-chongqing Corridor

The study of Transportation Corridor involves many fields such as traffic and transportation planning, transportation economy and transportation geography. According to region scale, transportation corridor is classified as three types including international corridor, national corridor and regional corridor. Regional center cities and important cities are linked in regional corridor, so inter-city passenger transportation in regional transportation corridor receives attention by scholars.With the construction of the infrastructure in regional corridor, inter-city passenger multi-modes transportation market in regional corridor is developing and forming. When inter-city high-speed railway is built up, the market share of transportation modes will change. Chengdu-Chongqing corridor is a typical regional multi-modes transportation corridor, based on the background of the planning of Chengdu-Chongqing economy region and the building of Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed railway, this thesis does research on the division of inter-city passenger transportation tasks in regional corridor among different transportation modes.Firstly, this thesis discusses the conception, the types, the characters and the line structure of transportation corridor and technology-economy feature of transportation modes. The line structure of regional transportation corridor is analyzed and the change of the lines in Chengdu-Chongqing corridor is explained.Secondly, in the view of quantity, this thesis analyzes the matching degree of supply and demand of inter-city passenger transportation in regional transportation corridor. Trend passenger volume and induced passenger volume are estimated to represent demand of inter-city passenger transportation. Capacity under possible transportation organization is estimated to represent supply of different transportation modes. Chengdu-Chongqing inter-city passenger transportation in the year2014is used as an example.Thirdly, based on quantity analysis, under the condition of transportation supply improvement, market share of different transportation modes is predicted. Through analyzing passenger trip process, passenger psychological needs and passenger decision process, influencing factors of transportation modes choice is got. A logit model based on generalized cost of transportation modes is built after comparing different methods. Transportation modes market share of Chengdu-Chongqing inter-city passenger transportation in the year of2009-2011and2014is analyzed and calculated as an example.Then, under the condition of transportation supply improvement, the transfer of passenger volume between public transportation modes and private transportation modes is studied. Based on game theory, this thesis simulates market share change under different strategies of different transportation enterprises. Matrix game is built to analyze the competition between public transportation modes including high-speed electric multiple unit trains and buses on freeways and private transportation modes like private cars. Reasonable strategies for different transportation enterprises are given by searching solutions of matrix game. Chengdu-Chongqing inter-city passenger transportation in the year2014is analyzed as an example, price war should be avoided and some strategies are given to railway bureau to attract passengers using private cars.
