It has been in a high-speed construction period for urban rail transit of China. Urban rail transit system has some features such as large volume, fast, accurate time, energy saving, comfort and environmental protection, and it can almost cover the entire traffic areas of city, accelerate the speed of city’s economic development, and strengthen the city’s appeal. Based on these characters, urban rail transit system can meet the growing travel needs of city dwellers, improve the situation of urban road congestion, enhance the quality of residents*travel, accelerate the pace of life, and result in a higher social value. Urban rail transit system is also a complex, linkage, and a large system which needs every department to work together. In order to complete the passenger transport services better and ease the traffic pressure, urban rail transit system should has the adaptive capacity to respond to changes of passenger flow.This paper mainly studies the real-time monitoring of urban rail transit passenger flow which is based on ticketing information. First, it analyses the relevant situations in rail transit operations, beginning with the organization of urban rail transit passenger flow, transportation planning and transport capacity, and these provide theoretical foundation and basis for the realization of the system behind. Secondly, according to various factors, a detailed analysis of the passenger flow rules in stations and railway lines, during the every part of trips, will be given. And then, make every aspect of passenger flow monitoring clear in order to achieve the quantitative study of passenger flow, and build passenger flow mathematical model of urban rail transit system, and design table dispatching method to analysis of passenger flow. At the same time, we can design the system framework and the function structure depending on demand analysis, according to the real situation of urban rail transit passenger flow. In conclusion, according to the design of real-time monitoring system of urban rail transit passenger flow and using the theory and method of computer queue, it achieves algorithm of the table dispatching method, and it also achieves functions such as passenger information collection of urban rail transit, data processing and analysis, and passenger data release. At the end of this paper, the simulation of passenger flow monitoring will be performed by using the simplified data of Chengdu subway.
