With the rapid development of economy and the accelerated process of urbanization in China, urban transportation problems have become increasingly prominent, urban rail transport plays an increasingly important role in the modern city. Low-speed maglev train is a new type of rail transport vehicles, which is especially suitable for the middle-distance within the city, and the medium-volume transport. Because the research of maglev’s operation control system is still in the test stage, there is no strict standard. This paper calculated the operating speed curve on low speed maglev, which provides the section operating time for designers and operators. Besides, the calculation provides some reference value for managers, which has a certain practicality. What’s more, this paper has a theoretical significance and practical value for ATO, and has a positive meaning for promoting the low-speed maglev in China.Based on the theory of traction calculation, low-speed maglev was investigated in the paper. In connection with the operation characteristics of the low-speed maglev, the force of maglev under a variety of operating conditions and the line model of vehicle operation were analyzed. Finally the curve of speed of the low-speed maglev was drawn by MATLAB.Firstly, the paper analyzed the characteristic of LIM. We can get the traction characteristic by building up the equivalent circuit model that considers the end effects of LIM.Secondly, the paper research the force of low-speed maglev in the signal particle, and build the dynamical equation in different braking mode.Thirdly, the paper gave the recommended value of various indicators by analyzing the graphic conditions and longitudinal conditions of railway lines. Based on the actual line parameters, we calculated the limited speed and simplified the line model under the premise of respect for the actual line.At last, the paper discussed a variety of operating conditions of low-speed maglev, build the mathematical and arithmetic models. We acquired the safe curve with the limited speed and the traction characteristics. Under the curve, we calculated the maglev’s operating speed curve in some principles, such as the least time, the economic and comfortable principle. With comprehensive comparison of these principles, we got the rational operation and finally drew the V-S curve. Besides, we analyzed the brake error during the operation.
