Among the factors lead to so many domestic and international accidents for civil engineering, the factor of uneven settlement foundation accounts for a large part. Therefore, strengthening and repairing these undesirable building foundations in order to make these buildings can continue to exert its function, has become a very important topic.There are many reasons may produce the uneven settlement for buildings foundation:some might because of its old ages which lead to disruption of foundation and loss of bearing capacity; some might because of construction of the other buildings around which change the bearing capacity of soil, and some because of the change of ground water, and so on. The reasons cause the uneven settlement are various, so the relevent reinforcement methods are also varied. For a foundation with the problem of uneven settlement, the most suitable one choosed from those so many methods is particularly important.This paper summarized the research status about the topic of uneven settlement of foundation at home and abroad, analyzed the reasons and the danger of uneven settlement of foundation. And then, this paper introduced some measures about how to prevent uneven settlement and how to strengthing or reinforcing the soil that has been already settlement unevenly, combined with the 《Code for design of building foundation》 in our country.It is an simple and efficient solution to hoop the original foundations of the building which has already settlement unevenly with the large length and large diameter bored concrete pile. While, the detailed research and study to this solution has been ignored by most of people to today.The object researched in this paper is a high-rise residential building which has been just build right now. In the settlement observation of this house during the construction, we found the value of east settlement of the building is more than the west one. This big difference has not damaged this building yet now, but we have to adopt some measure to control the settlement of this structure and prevent the difference value expanding. In this paper, FLAC3D is used to simulate the geological situation and the settlement of this building. Bored concrete piles are adopted to be the method of foundation reinforcement to this structure. The core about this topic in this article is that whether it is necessary to bond the bored concrete piles with the original raft of the structure in the late-reinforcement stage. We proposed nine kinds of filling bored concrete piles with different parameters, and in turn, exerted simulation with FLAC3D to the two kinds of conditions——bond-conditions to bored concrete piles and the raft, unbond-conditions to bored concrete piles and the raft. Finally, the optimal scheme of reinforcement was selected after analyzing and contrasting the data, combining with actual economic factors at the same time. Compared to the unbond-conditions, the simulation results show that the settlement value and settlement distribution are more suitable for the project when bonding the bored concrete piles with the original raft of the structure. We can also use the same method of foundation reinforcement in similar construction accident. In the next step, we can try our best to focus on the various influences between the method of hooping the original foundations with the large length and large diameter bored concrete pile and the upper structures.As a special analysis software, FLAC3D is used in geotechnical engineering widely with its advantages in simulation analysis. Through the application of FLAC3D in the project, this paper introduces the way to establish models, set parameters, calculate data and so on.As a branch of the construction engineering, there are seldom relevent and systemetic theories about uneven subsidence of the foundation can be acknowledged as a comprehensive guidance to the practical application. It also needs more attention to more experts, scholars in this field in order to perfect the theory of old buildings foundation reinforcement through the more test and engineering material.This research in this paper may provide some good and helpful results for the further improvement of theory of building foundation reinforcement.
