As the vehicle design tend to the high-speed and lightweight, the traffic accidents andthe amount of injury and death are increasing with the increasing of the number of vehiclepossession year by year. The vehicle passive safety is primary direction of the world’smodern vehicle technology. How to improve passive safety performance of vehicles in thecollision process as possible to avoid or mitigate occupant casualties in the automotivecollision, has become China’s automotive passive safety performance of the important issues.This dissertation’s backdrop based on side impact the standard that began executing inChina, According to C-NCAP frontal crash standard, The CAE model was calculated byHypermesh and LS-DYNA, The basis of this analysis, the body structure, energy, thecollision force transmission path, the body stringer deformation analysis about the B-pillarunder the side collision acceleration and right stringer optimization improvements. Finally,the C-NCAP crash test of the real vehicle to verify the credibility of the finite elementcollision model, and stringers to optimize the correctness and feasibility of theimplementation of the program.Depth study of some of the features of a frontal collision.The paper expatiated FEA theory, modeling method, modeling process and side impactvalue index, introducing BIW and longeron design process.First, the paper pointed out the import for researching frontal collision safety,summarized FEA development course in vehicle industry,analyzing researching level andtend of crash safety in China and foreign, detailed introduced the impact regulations andmethod in China and foreign later, analysis our country’s impact regulations require andcharacteristic. And then, discussed the FEA theory and element type, essential equation forsimulation, integral arithmetic etc, established vehicle frontal collision FEA model.According to the simulation results, the vehicle frontal crash energy absorption divided intothree regions to discuss the various regions of energy absorption characteristics; and thencarved out of the vehicle frontal crash, three collision force transmission path, to discuss thecharacteristics of each power transmission path; next, focus on vehicle frontal crashacceleration curve analysis, deformation analysis of body structure, and finally by the real vehicle’s frontal crash test, collecting the relative position of the acceleration curve and thecorresponding position on the floor deformation of the engine mount failure in the form toprove the correctness of the simulation model.The results can provide some references of longeron design for the future.
