Micro electric vehicle is a new type of car with great market potential,which meets the demand of green transportation for urban area and site,but the safety problem that has been widely questioned has not been solved yet over the years.In this paper,it takes a micro electric vehicle body frame as the research object,and a new vehicle body configuration that is assembled together by energy absorbing structure and cage type passenger compartment is proposed,the crash characteristics of passenger compartment and optimization of energy absorbing structures are analyzed and discussed.(1)The geometric models and finite element models of a vehicle frame body with cage structure are established by SolidWorks and hypermesh software,based on the unique stability principle of cage structure,and then the meshing and parameter setting of simulation experiment are analyzed and discussed.(2)The crash simulation of cage type passenger compartment is carried out by LS-dyna and Hyperworks software,and the deformation of passenger compartment and its key structural components and the acceleration of passenger compartment are analyzed.Then,the accuracy of simulation result was verified,through the analysis of the simulation results of the hourglass energy,mass and energy change rate.(3)The length,wall thickness and material of energy absorbing structures are simulated and optimized,and the frontal crash performance of the complete vehicle assembled by energy absorbing structure and passenger compartment is verified,and the maximum deformation and maximum acceleration of the passenger compartment can meet the actual needs.
