| Dynamic Route Guidance System, as one main part of the Intelligent Traffic System, influences the traffic flow by influencing the traffic behavior of drivers with travel information; therefore, in order to build the traffic guidance strategy satisfying the requirement of the optimical system, it is necessary to study the dynamic influence of the travel information to the traffic flow and drivers’ response to the guidance information. Besides, the VMS informaiton should be correct enough for its serving character. While the guidance strategy in China is mainly based on the real-time information, the predictive traffic information can make great contribution to the route guidance when the future state of the traffic network is also taken into acount by considering the predictive information, so this thesis using the model predictive control algorithm to construct the route guidance strategy. The content of the paper is as follows:1. This paper constructs a MPC approach for building route guidance framework, introducing the control process of the guidance strategy;2. Building the predictive model. The predictive model consists of three parts, describing respectively the evolution of the traffic flows, the reaction of the drivers to the route guidance and the calculation of the travel time;3. The travel time shown on the VMS are optimized to minimize the objective function, which consists in minimizing the total time spent on the one hand, and in reducing the difference between the travel time shown and actually realized travel time;4. In simulation, this paper studies the advanced effect of the MPC approach for route guidance, and discusses the influence of the predictive horizon and the guidance intervals. Besides, the weighting factor in the objective function is discussed and finally the day-to-day route choice model in the predictive model is studied by considering whether the correctness of the VMS information is involved. |
