As a kind of cleanness and renewable energy, many countries pay extensive attention on wind power in recent years, wind power technology has become more and more mature. Along with the enhancement of wind power automation level, wind power monitoring technology has become an important technology in wind power industry. Since there’s no existing standard, there are many monitoring system versions, and it generally exists the phenomenon that different monitoring system versions are not compatible. This thesis focused on these problems, and researched certain techniques which were related to the monitoring system in wind farms, and mainly designed the main station of the wind power monitoring system.The thesis firstly compared the advantages and disadvantages of two kinds of system’s structure:C/S and B/S, and combined with the actual demands of wind power monitoring system, then finally choosed B/S model as the system’s structure solution. Since the wind power monitoring system based on B/S model realized the client application by Web server, so the relevant Web technology had been introduced, which included Web database technology, Web communication protocol, Web buffer technology, Web development language, etc. Secondly, through the analysis of the functional requirements of the system, the thesis gave the planning of the system’s overall network architecture and the configuration of software and hardware, then according to the construction requirements of system’s main station, the thesis gave the framework design of the main station. Above all, the thesis put it important on the design of database server and Web server, and used a simple and practical method which is PI+ASP.NET+IIS in Windows environment to develop wind power monitoring system based on B/S model.Since datas of wind farms were various kinds, complicated sources, gigantic scale, speedly update and dispersed collection, so ordinary relational database could not meet the requirements. The thesis choosed PI database as the platform to store wind farms’ real-time information. Through the research of the establishment of data points and data documents in PI database and the configuration of PI communication interface solutions, the thesis bluit the real-time data platform based on PI database, then it analyzed the data process in PI database, and gave the design of two important service programs related to PI database. Furthermore, since the B/S model is choosed, so the client application realized by Web server, the client just needs to install a corresponding browser software. The thesis choosed the most frequent IIS server as the Web server, through setting the VPN local area network and configuring IIS server, then using ASP.NET development tools and Updatepanel, Chartlet, ReportViewer,etc, the thesis finally realized the design of main function modules of wind power monitoring system’s man-machine interface.The designed wind power monitoring system can realize Web access and remote centralized monitoring of different types of wind tubines in multiple wind farms, it is helpful for the safe and stable operation of wind turbines, and it’s conformed to the actual needs of the development of wind farms in our country. It makes it possible that wind power enterprise managers grasp more wind power status of production at any time, this improves the modern management level in wind power enterprise. At present, the system has been run successfully in a wind power enterprise in JiangSu province for more than one year, it operates smoothly and simply, and upgrades easily. In short, the system has the advantage of standardization, openness, security and reliability, and solves the problems of existing domestic wind power monitoring systems, and it is expected to get promotion in large wind farms in China in the near future.
