With the development of finite element analysis software, it is common to adoptfinite element analysis result into constrction control calculation of long-spansuspension bridge. Generally the theoretical value of material parameters are used tocreate finite element model, however, since there are differences between theoreticalvalue and real value, the original model can’t reflect the actual behavior of structure.Therefore model updating is integral for construction control calculation. This arcticleis based on Nanxi suspension bridge and some researchs are carried on as follows:Sensitivity analysis was proceed based on the finite element model, finiteelement model updating was carried on based on the sensitivity analysis result,combined with the results of stiffening girder weighing test and the maincable elasticity modulus test, the correction value of sensitive parameters wereobtained.To achieve this two-pronged approach, first, the use of experimental and fielddata to derive a correction value of the important design parameters; corrected thesctructral finite element analysis model based on feedback data measured by theconstruction site. Modified by the finite element model with the experimental resultsand measured data to determine the closer to the corrected value of the actualstructural design parameters, so that the monitoring result of the calculation is moreaccurate.On the basis of the finite element model updating, the modified parameters wereused to monitor the calculation of the construction of the main cable. Also theconstruction was guided.Take temperature and the tower deviation into account to calculate the span andtemperature coefficient, a simple cable tune formula was applied to guide the linearadjustment of main cable. The influence of temperature on the wire strand tension atanchor span and side span is studied, the reasonable construction control method wasproposed.In this paper, the model updating was conducted based on the sensitivity analysis,combined with the results of material test, the correction value was obtained. On thebasis of the correction value the construction control calculation was carried on andthe ideal practical results were achieved, there is certain reference value for theconstruction control of long-span suspension bridge.
