Two way cartridage valve has many characteristic, such as little liquid resistance, quick dynamic response, great oil transiting capacity, dependable performance, simple structure and facile integration. It is a key component in the hydraulic system of large tonnage of construction machinery. In recent years, with the increasing requirement of construction machinery tonnage, operating frequency, control accuracy and other factors, using the numerical simulation of hydraulic systems and components to predict performance has become an important method in the mechanical design of large-scale work. However, this work about hydraulic components is in a initial stage in domestic, and many basic work need to be done such as high pressure pump, control valve and so on. The static and dynamic properties researches on two-way cartridge valves were in the scope of these basic studies. This paper studied cartridge relief valve used in the vibration roller circuit. During the researching, fluid dynamics simulation software FLUENT is used to do the simulation experiments. Orthogonal experiment is used to do the data processing, which can determine the factors which can impact the fluid resistance of the cartridge relief valve. Based on the simulation, the flow channel of the cartridge relief valve flow field can be demonstrated.Based on optimization results derived from orthogonal and FLUENT, it can establish the equations of spool, the valve chamber continuity equation, the orifice continuity equation, and AMESIM model of cartridge relief valve. It can finish the dynamic performance simulation and optimization. The simulation can detect the most important factors that impacts the cartridge relief valve dynamic characteristics, such as orifice diameter of main valve, volume of the first chamber, volume of the main valve chamber, diameter of orifice, volume of cover cavity and diameter of the pilot valve orifice. This thesis provides a reference of researching methods and ideas for the basic research work of characteristics of hydraulic components in the large-tonnage construction machinery by the method combining the simulation with physical experiment.
