In recent years scholars at home and abroad made systematic research on structural vibration control which has been applied for tall building or high-rise building.However study on vibration control method applying for long-span space truss structures is few,it belongs to the beginning stage. Space grid structure is widely used in sports center, cinemas and theaters ,exhibition centers, airport lounges,hangar and other public buildings structure,its security is very important to people’lives and property.In this paper taking long-span space truss structures as the research object ,using the way of the vibration energy dissipation,which through additional viscous dampers in the structure,to enhance the security of the structure Under seismic action.The viscous dampers were reasonable arrangemented in the structure which could consume most of the seismic energy, reduce the structural displacement, improve or enhance the seismic performance of the structures.Working behavior of viscous dampers is nonlinear characteristic, so dynamic analysis for space truss structure with viscous damper is partial nonlinear problem.The paper uses Fast Nonlinear Analysis to solve problems which is suitable for local nonlinear problems.The method is mentioned above is more effective and pricision.In order to study seismic vibration control for a Trilateral Supporting Grid Structure, the model is carried out by finite element software SAP. According to the period and formation of structure, the dynamic characteristics of the structure are mastered, then viscous dampers could be installed.By considering six different setting manners of viscous dampers ,analysis of damping effect is carried out in the paper.In order to further prove the selected setting manner, another two waves are inputted to prove the damping effect.By considering different damping index and damping coefficient and different seismic wave , analysis of damping effect is carried out in the paper too. The results indicate that the damping index and damping coefficient have extent which is advised.The structures’responses maybe have larger difference under different seismic waves.In order to get more accurate results,using many seismic waves to calculate and taking their average are necessary.It proved that viscous damper damping system was the effectiveness to grid structure. it provided the experiences and data for the future more in-depth effective theoretical and experimental study to long-span space structure.
