The earthquake happens since ancient times.Especially recently,violent earthquakes have constantly happened all over the world,and have brought people huge loss of life and property.In order to prevent the damage caused by the earthquake and reduce the loss,the seismic design of structures is a kind of effective method.Taking reasonable seismic design method, in order to improve the seismic resistance of houses.With the development of the seismic design theory and the practical application, the seismic experiment method has developed from the pseudo-static experiment, vibration table experiment to pseudo-dynamic experiment. Pseudo dynamic experiment is an experimental technology that studies the seismic performance of structure, and is one of the the most widely used seismic test. This method absorbes the advantage of pseudo-static experiment and vibration table experiment, it joins test loading tehnology and computer technology together.This paper describes the current seismic methods, the basic principles of pseudo-dynamic test and its steps in detail. Numerical calculation is one of the main part of the pseudo-dynamic test. The selection of methods of numerical integration directly affects the accuracy and reliability of the results. Central difference method, explicit Newmark method, double-P method are explicit numerical method widely use.The principles of the three methods and the numerical characteristics are analyzed in detail.On the basis of further understanding of the pseudo-dynamic test, the pseudo dynamic test software has been designed. Test software is designed with Delphi, use multithreading technology and OpenGL. The software used numerical methods such as linear acceleration method, the central difference method, corrected a-method, to apply different research. In the meantime software can be used for various types of structure experiment, so that is has a certain commonality. Through the simulation demonstrating we can see test software running effect is all right. In addition, we summarize the shortage of the software and give out our expectation of its future development.
