Nowadays, the scale of power construction expands day by day with the rapid development in China. 600MW units have been applied into the main power grid, 900MW units have already been put into operation, and the 1000MW units are in urgent preparation. The turbo-generator foundations, whose shape varies according to craft and structure,is served as an important special structure, this sets a higher demand for our county's turbo-generator foundation design. At present, our country has formed a set of relative consummation theory and method based on the dynamic analysis of turbo generator foundation. However, with the development of electricity and the expansion of construction scale, there will be more and more large-scale units turbo-generator foundations being buit in high-intensity seismic region and complex site, and this will put the seismic behavior of turbo-generator foundation into a high demand. Therefore, how to ensure the turbo-foundations have a good seismic fortification requirements as well as good dynamic characteristics has become an important issue which needs to be resolved urgently in the world. Because of the current limited study on the seismic behavior of turbo-generator and no special seismic code for turbo-generator foundation, so, it is very necessary to adopt various tests and analysis methods to have a more in-depth study on the turbine seismic behavior.Experimental study on seismic structure contains two aspects: One is the in-depth understanding towards material or structure performance; The other is to validate the expected response of structure. The former is the development of abstract and general data model of structure, mainly using cyclical loading method on small-scale specimens of single degree of freedom; The last is the uses in the component or the structure of the data model which already existed, and then anticipate the response according to the experiment, mainly using simulated earthquake shaking table testing method and pseudo-dynamic testing method.Combined with numerical simulation and based on the test, the seismic behavior of 1000MW turbine-generator foundation, whose prototype is 1:10 model, is studied and analyzed under the conditions of soft site and Eight-degree Seismic Regions, then this paper explores the stress characteristics and the reliability of connection between equipments and the basis of this kind structure under horizontal seismic action, finds weak links and weak parts as well as a reasonable and economical method of seismic design, the conclusion has a very important guiding significance in engineering .
