The Analysis And Exploration Of The Urban Design Development At Home And Abroad

With the development of social economy and the improvement of technology, many problems emerged as our country’s cites go through rapid urbanization.Traditional urban planning values the rationality of the function of land utilization, but for lack of the research of urban culture and the social relationship between the people and space environment, many urban problems still emerged under urban planning, for example so many cities develop in the same urban mode. Urban design pays close attention to the city’s image and unique and spectacular scenery, and its designing methods and expressing ways are visual and three-dimensional. With the widespread concern of professionals at home and abroad, urban design develops from the initial theories into the booming of theories, forms, contents and designs. With the development degree of urban planning system and urban design, this thesis attempts to explore the system of urban design and management adjusting to the local characteristics through the analysis of the development course of urban design and the current development situation of urban design at home and abroad.The first section, this thesis summarizes the development history of urban design and urban design theories, makes comparison of the definitions of urban design given in different professional background and analyzes the characteristics, the significance and the background of urban design.The second section, this thesis briefly introduces the urban design system in the USA and UK and enumerates fully-fledged urban design cases abroad in order to the development of urban design in our country.The third section, this thesis summarizes the urban diseases exposed in the rapid growth of the cities through the analysis of the development of the cities in China, then it analyzes the existing system of urban planning and orients the relationship between urban design and urban planning, on the basis of which to explore the developing direction of urban design in China.The forth section, this thesis sums up the pluralism development trend of urban design and elaborates the diversified content of urban design. On the basis of preamble, this thesis conceives the formulating system, designing result and implementation and management of urban design to explore a Chinese urban design mode.Anyhow, this thesis starts from organizing the correlation theories of urban design, combining with the practical situation of urban development, tries to explore a urban design mode of local characteristics through the analysis of urban design cases, hoping to have reference value to the urban design development in China.
