Currently, the National Economy is developing rapidly. As the main way ofcommunications and transportation,the railage is meeting the serious challenge.Highspeed and over loading are railway system’s developing direction. There are manyweak links on railroad track structure,the rail joint is one of these. The rail joint of thetrack will reduce the useful time of line equipment,locomotive and other vehicles;willinfluence the comfort levelof passengers; will increase the expenditure of energy;willendanger the traffic safety of railroad. The traditional form of rail joint can notsatisfy the requirement of high speed and over loading. In order to resolve thequestions about the stability and the ride performances of rail joint,the jointless trackemerges.As an improvement on railroad track structure, the jointless track are animportant symbol,and it is an optimal choice of high speed and over loading on trackstructure. It’s advantage is approved indisputably by every county all of the word. Thewelding technique is one of key technology that is used to achieve the jointless trackand to remove the traditional form of rail joins. Currently,there are some kinds ofwelding techniques to be used for rail welding of jointless track,as follows mainly:flash welding technique,gas-pressure welding technique, arc welding technique,thermit welding technique.This article is composed of four parts:The first part: In the first place, it relates simply about the history of thedevelopment of railway, including:brief history of railroad track, brief history oflocomotive and brief history of Chinese railroad. The second place, it introducesrespectively the basic structure of railroad track and it’s component parts, including:the function and the basic demand of rails; the material and mechanical property ofrails; the function and the sort of the sleeper; the intermediate fastening between tworails, the intermediate fastening between rail and sleeper; the function, sort andmaterial of the road bed; The third place, it describes the traditional form of the railjoint and it’s connection way. At last, it expatiates the emerge and sort of the weldedrails and the extra-long seamless rail; It introduces the current paving situation ofwelded rails at home and abroad.The second part: In the first place, it introduces respectively three kinds ofwelding techniques, they are: flash welding technique, gas-pressure weldingtechnique and arc welding technique, including the fundamentals of welding, thewelding equipment, the welding procedure, the organizational structure and themicroscopic-defect of the welding line,the mechanical property of the welding line, atlast it introduces the advantage and the questions of three kinds of welding techniquesthat still exist. The third part: In the first place, it introduces the thermit welding technique inspecial, it is including: the fundamentals of welding, the welding equipment, thewelding procedure, the organizational structure and the microscopic-defect of thewelding line,the mechanical property of the welding line, and the advantage and thequestions of the thermit welding technique that still exist. Then it compares thermitwelding flux which is made in Germany, France and China, including: the weldingprocedure and the microscopic-defect of the welding line; and it reaches a conclusionthat there is a gap between the thermit welding technique which is used to weld railsat home and abroad.In the third place,it analyzes the various factors that can influencethe quality of the welding line which is welded by thermit welding technique,thenproposes the measures which can guarantee and increase the quality of the weldingline.The fourth part: Overall summary of the development of the railway rolling stockand track, and summarizes the key technology of seamless rail welding,andConsidering rail thermit welding technology with the advantages and disadvantages ofarc welding technology, proposed methods of thermal-arc hybrid welding ofaluminum.In a word, this paper introduced the history of the development of railway,including the heuristic procedure of railroad track, the heuristic procedure oflocomotive, and the heuristic procedure of China; By describes the seamless railwelding technology, analysis of the advantages and problems of various weldingmethods;"Seamless rail thermit welding operations training" on the basis of aseamless rail thermit welding of technical presentations, put forward to guarantee thequality of thermite welding technology improvement measures and to improve thequality of rail welding methods, and Germany, and France and China three comparedto the thermite welding process, come to the domestic and international rail thermitwelding technology gaps; Considering seamless rail thermit welding and arc weldingtechnology advantages and disadvantages, made aluminium heat-electric arc weldingmethod in line with.
