Along with the rising of Beijing’s economic and cultural level as well as the acceleration of its urbanization process, the city function area dividing becomes increasingly clear; the growth of traffic demand increases; congestion and accidents happen more frequently; It should be mentioned that the railway passenger transport hub is the heart of railway transport net, which connects the railways and cities. The space construction and operation of the railway passenger transport hub will generate economic effect to the peripheral area. Transportation development strategy and planning should be developed for the special traffic environment of Beijing to adapt to its economic development, so that the railway passenger transport hub can play a greatest extent of role in the city’s economy.Firstly, Based on the analysis of the spatial economic effect of the railway passenger transport hub and international experience, this paper draws lessons from the existing research results, takes the objective facts of Beijing railway passenger transport hub as the starting point, uses the spatial economic theory and the transport theory to analyze the impact of Beijing railway passenger transport hub on the spatial economy theoretically. Then, this paper makes specific analysis of the spatial economic effect of the main Beijing railway passenger transport hub and the experience of Germany Berlin central station and Kyoto Station’spatial economic effect are summarized to guide the development of Beijing railway passenger transport hub in the future. In the quantitative empirical analysis part, this paper uses the software Geoda to build the spatial economic effect analysis model and examines it by Moran’s I test. The maximum likelihood estimation results show that for each increase of1percentage points overall level of the Beijing railway passenger transport hub, Beijing’s economy will grow0.00097percentage points by the spatial economic spillover effect of the railway passenger transport hub. Finally, this paper puts forward policy suggestions for Beijing passenger transport hub’s construction and planning.
