With the rapid development of the state highway construction,coarse aggregate, a part ofthe cement concrete,is largely perfected. Crushed limestone, as a kind of coarse aggregate incommon, is widely used. Nevertheless, from lots of crushed limestone crushing valueexperiment, we found the qualified rate is very low. Crushing value is a very importantindicator of coarse aggregate intensity. If the crushing value can not content with the coderequirement, coarse aggregate can not be used in cement concrete construction. Crushedlimestone can not be found among the construction, for promoting the price of carriage.Crushed limestone crushing value characteristic and effecting on the concrete compressivestrength will be researched in this paper based on the domestic and foreign documents andNanning outer ring highway engineering in Guangxi area.This paper deeply researches crushed limestone crushing value characteristic with homeand abroad data investigation, laboratory experiment, theoretical analysis and engineeringapplication analysis. The main contents includes limestone area survey, limestone usagesituation, the transformation relation establishment of crushed limestone about new and oldregulations, the influence of maternal rock strength to crushing value, the analysis of effectfactors on non crushing value about testing method, the application of fractal theory oncrushing value, the influence of coarse aggregate crushing value to cement concrete strengthand so on.At first, surveying the limestone area and decimating sample to test crushing value andmaternal rock single-axle compression strength. Then we get transformation formula aboutlimestone crushing value for Guangxi area. The relationship was established by contractivelyanalyzing the relation between maternal rock compression strength and crushing value.Analyzing the influencing factors of crushing value experimental conditions, such as sampleconsolidate situation, load strength, load rate, elongated and flaky particles, particle shape. Inthe paper, fractal theory was applied, and particle distribution situation after crushing valueexperiment was described by introducing fractal and weighted average particle diameter. Withgeneral cement concrete mix radio test, such as C30, C40, C50, and cube sample brokensituation, analyzing the influence of crushed limestone crushing value to cement concretestrength level.From the tests and researches, we can know crushed limestone crushing value was overstandard in Guangxi area, but the main reason is the transformation formula not applied. Crushing value were not only related to maternal rock compress strength, but also lots ofother factors. From the situation of cement concrete compounding, we can get the conclusionthat crushed limestone strength can fully meet the requirements for cement concretecompounding.
