With the development of the high-rise buildings and super high-rise buildings,Piled raft foundation has been widely promoted and applied, and faces a higherrequirement, these projects should not only be safe but also be economical. Therefore,the study on optimization design becomes a key problem. In this paper, the optimizationdesign of piled raft foundation include two sections: the selection of pile foundationtypes and the optimization design of piled raft foundation,this paper focus on the basictheories and methods which used in the optimization design of piled raft foundation,and mainly includes:Firstly, this paper introduces the characteristics and applicable scope of thecommonly used types of pile foundation, and on this basis, adopts multiple objectivefuzzy decision method to determine a reasonable type of pile foundation according tothe actual situation. Secondly, according to the design theories of piled raft foundation,this paper establishes the mathematical model of optimum design for piled raftfoundation, and the greatest value is used as the optimum object, to avoid only withlowest cost as the optimum goal. At the same time, this paper considers the constructiondifficulty when establishing the cost evaluation function, to better meet constructionrequirements than the previous mathematical model. In order to facilitate theoptimization calculation, this paper adopts the genetic algorithm, and organization thecalculation program with the Matlab software. Finally, do optimization design for apractical engineering, to obtain the optimum scheme, and study the law how theparameters of piled raft foundation influence the evaluation functions and total value.In this paper, the optimization design of piled raft foundation is studied to raisethe designers’ attention to the optimization design, and provide reference value for the designers as soon as possible.
