Research Of Urban Streetside Square Landscape Design Based On Human Watching Behavior

As the acceleration of city urbanization, people’s spiritual needs become more andmore strongly as well as material needs. Modern urbanite want to pursue a beautifulurban environment. As a part of urban public space, urban streetside square serve peoplein watch, leisure time, entertainment, contact, and bodybuilding. On the other hand, itcan also affect city skyline and to be a display platform and a landmark. Therefore,urban streetside square plays an important role in city construction promoting the cityimage. The research of its landscape design has an important realistic significance. Thispaper based on the method of human watching behavior and city square construction,and studies on landscape design of urban streetside square according to human watchingbehavior. The main work is as follows:1、Theory study on urban streetside square landscape design. Analysis the type,characteristic of the urban streetside square and the function of landscape; Studies oninfluence of human demand on urban streetside square from time and space. Then,analysis human watching behavior on space. Furthermore, landscape form is alsostudied.2、Case study on urban streetside square landscape design. Analyzed and comparedexcellent design examples in domestic and international; According to urban streetsidesquares around Xi’an, the residents activities is investigated and researched in thebuilding urban streetside square; Analysis of its advantages and disadvantages, and givesome suggestions on the landscape optimization.3、Presenting urban streetside square landscape design countermeasure. Based on analysis different kinds of streetside square on the demand and behavior rules for users,and landscape design countermeasure based on human watching behavior is presented.Research findings of this paper can be used for designing and implementing ofurban streetside square, and meets human’s demand, then promoting the city image andenvironmental quality.
