The Guidelines Research And Design Of The Linear Green Space In Wudalianchi New Town

The linear green space with the characteristics of open, wide coverage,network connection is playing increasingly an important role in the GreenLand System. However there has not been established Urban DesignGuidelines to fully describe and control the design of the linear green space.The study on the linear green space is limited to summarizing the charactorsaccording to the actual designs which can not produce intuitive and effectivecontrol. In this paper, taking the linear green space in Wudalianchi Town asan example to explore the Controllability Guidelines of linear green space.In this research, literature review, case investigation, public participationhave been adopted to collect the elements of the linear green space design. Allthe elements can be summarized as “Roads and Squares”,“Boundarys”,“Planting Design”,“Facilities”,“Plant Character”. On this basis, throughanalysing the importance of every element to select key elements to becontrolled during the design. Fistly, all the key elements are divided into HardCategory and Soft Category. The Soft Category is reflected in Plant Characterthat be described by three pairs of indicators. The Hard Category is furtherdivided into points, lines, surfaces. All the key elements will be organizedinto the Controllability Guidelines.Combining with the Wudalianchi physical geography, cultural historyand upper urban planning, I utilize the Controllability Guidelines to do theurban design for the linear green space there. Meanwhile I also design a set oficons to illustrate the key element in the Controllability Guidelines.
