With the rapid development of Relay Protection Technology in power industry,all kinds of Relay Protection Devices play an important role in enhancing the skill ofRelay Protection Technology, ensuring power system safe and stable operation. TheRelay Protection Tester is used to vertificate Relay Protection Equipmentperiodically. As the testing technology constantly improving, it has become quiteimportant to calibrate the transient characteristics and actuation time for Relay Tester.But the parameters used to be measured by the instruments, such as Digital StorageOscilloscope, Wave Record and Milliseconds Counter. Thinking about the tediouswork, this article presents a Relay Protection Calibration Device for achievingparameters testing.The device is composed of data acquisition card and PC computer, dataacquisition card apply the DSP chip TMS320F2812and high speed conversion chipADS930, adopt dual-rate sample technique realizing the transient signal, initialphase of data acquisition. PC computer is responsible for calculating, data displaying,drawing curves and implementing control of DSP system with the help ofdevelopment tool Delphi7.0. According to the test method of the standard of powerindustry DL/T624-2010, the equipment completes the parameters for tester includingAC&DC voltage and current response time, response rate, the synchronization of ACsource, actuation time, initial phase and closing angle combined with relatedalgorithms. Test of transient characteristics adopts interpolation algorithm to furtherimprove the precision. Measurement of initial phase uses time-measurement phasemethod and smooths the curves by FIR Digital Filter in order to improve theanti-interference. Actuation time is dectected with timing mode by programmabilityof DSP system. Closing phase angle measurement employs Fasr Fourier Transformmethod to complete test.This paper starts from the overall structure of device, achieving the design anddebugging of hardware and software. And also shows the primary circuits and theflow charts of mainly program, calibrating the device by the standard source. Finally,doing an experiment on the Relay Protection Instrument TEST-3330A to test the parameters and analyse the errors and prospecting the next study of the work.Experimental results show that the test method of the device is correct and easyoperation, and can perfect the inconvenience of vertification of existing devices.
