There are about four hundred important acupoints in human body. They have their names, locations, and geometrical properties individually on the skin surface of the body. The names and locations of four hundred important acupoints have been defined in the national standard, but for a long time there are scientific measurement methods and inspection standards yet on geometrical property, and will influence accurate localization of acupoints, which is an urgent problem in the study of acupoints.To solve this difficult problem of the acupoints, it is imperative to develop new measuring approaches and techniques. In this paper, taking acupoints geometrical property as a breakthrough, a new measuring method is presented. Use high resolution digital microscopy system to collect video image of acupoints on the skin surface, obtain acupoints surface information quickly and accurately, finally achieve acupoints geometrical property by help of image processing and measuring technology. This research method on the acupoints geometrical property is well verified by the preliminary experiments in the paper.According to the actual requirements of the subject, this paper first selects a high-resolution digital microscope hardware system, which points to solve the problem of the video image acquisition.Secondly, this study is to achieve three-dimensional morphology reconstruction of the surface by digital processing technology, analyze the geometric deformation of the acupoints on the surface by digital measuring technology. At last, the study achieves the geometrical property of the acupoints on the human body by connecting with the two aspects.Thirdly, by the combination of these digital image processing and analysis needs, user interface of the measuring system is made by the use of MATLAB software. The software system achieves all digital image processing and analysis functions of acupoints geometrical property, at the same time, the interfaces have very good interactivity and versatility.Finally, the experiment shows that the proposed method can achieve and verify the feasibility and accuracy of geometrical property measurement. Meanwhile, this study provides a practical scientific research methodology and precision measurement technology, and has the important significance and application value for the acupoints research.
