The microscopes play a very important role in the field of Biology and Medical science. Digital microscope integrates classical optical microscope, digital multimedia technique and digital processing technique into one. It transforms optical image captured by the lens of optical microscope into digital optical image data with the high resolution CCD or CMOS sensitive chips and processes the data which has been inputted to PC by different kinds of computer bus. The data can even be inputted to the screen of color television for dynamic observation and detail image capturing which bring convenience to store, analysis and process images.This image acquisition system realized the visual operation of the acquisition, display and processing of image data in upper computer. The match of the self-designed hardware system of CMOS digital microscope based on USB2.0 has been realized. The realization and interaction of image acquisition and real-time display and the subsequent operation of processing image has been analyzed and settled. And the stability and reliability of the system has been proved by testing experiment.The main work includes:1. Putting forward the main design proposal for the whole system of the digital microscope after analyzing the functional modules of the system.2. Introducing the realization of hardware system, mostly the realization of image acquisition and image transmission.3. Realization the acquisition, store and display of the image data and the double threading interaction between the image acquisition and display in the upper computer.4. Finished the universal image processing software, putting forward the universal algorithm of the binarization, threshold partition and outline abstraction.5. Testing the acquisition of single frame and continuous dynamic image with the image acquisition card, obtaining acceptable results of the match of the speed rate and giving some outcomes of the operation on image processing of the microscope.
