With the rapid development of economy in China, the lacking of land resource and urban capacity appeared. With the development of the high-rise building in the city center area, environmental quality in urban centers became worse and worse. To solve these problems, people began to turn to the valuable resource which is not yet fully developed-underground space. With the underground space’s enormous value discovered, people began to gradually develop underground space, and in some large cities, large underground complex appears which is composited by commercial, cultural, transportation and office. While the using of underground space brings many benefits to people, the safety issues become increasingly prominent. In recent years, underground space disasters have occurred many times, which brought heavy losses to life and property safety. Because of its multiplex function, variety of spatial form, large flow of people and difficult to rescue, Underground complex always damage seriously while fire occurs, because underground complex often difficult to effectively rescue.Based on the analysis of combination and characteristics of space of underground comlex as well as domestic and international underground building fire case, the anthor identified the characteristics and difficulties of fire of underground complex. In response to these characteristics and difficulties, studies are carried out both in fireproof design and safety evacuation from fire, and proposed some fireproof design strategy and safety evacuation strategy. Introduce some cases which applicates these methods. And in final, the study introduces some new technologies of fireproof strategy and safety evacuation strategy.
