Abstract/Summary:
Turbomachine is widely used in industrial production, and it plays an important role in aerospace, energy power and petrochemical fields. Integral impeller with splitting vanes has complicated flowcondition, and inadequate strength and vibration problem are the main reasons to cause its failure. Inthis paper, the body-model of an integral impeller with splitting vanes is reconstructed, and itsaerodynamic performance and strength and mechanical vibration mode in unidirectional fluid-solidcoupling field are analyzed, The main content and results in the paper are as following:1、The body-model of an integral impeller with splitting vanes is reconstructed by usingImageware and UG software based on the feature-based techniques in Reverse Engineering, thedetailed reconstruction scheme is described.2、The aerodynamic performance of the impeller is analyzed by using ANSYS CFX software. The flow characteristic curve of the impeller at different rotate speed is drew, and the speed andpressure at certain flux is observed in detail. The analytical result shows that the reconstructedimpeller has high isentropic efficiency and can work under a wide range of flow rate, the air flux inchannel is stable and the increase of air pressure is uniform, when the impeller works under highspeed, the reflux and vortex may occur at the trailing edge.3、The strength and mechanical vibration mode of the impeller is analyzed by using ANSYSWorkbench software. The highest safe speed and low-cycle critical fatigue speed and critical speedof the impeller are determined. The analytical result shows that the maximum stress of the impelleremerges at the low part of the hub near the central hole, the maximum stress of the blades emerges onthe leading edge near the blade root. the largest amplitude happens near the blade tip at the leadingedge, so the blades fracture would happen in high-cycle fatigue mode if it works under sustainedunsteady aerodynamic load and other kind of exciting force.4、The strength and mode in unidirectional fluid-solid coupling field is analyzed by using ANSYSWorkbench software. The results show that aerodynamic force affects the impeller strength and leadsto increasing stress but small decreasing strain, and it has little influence on impeller mode inunidirectional fluid-solid coupling field.
