According to the problem of nomal asphalt concrete pavement have low modulus, bad rutting-resistance and fatigue-rseistance, It cann’t meet with the increasing traffic flow, heavy-load vehicles and over-loading trucks of the asphalt of high-grade highways especially of the express way in our country, using high modulus asphalt concrete has been a valid method and a developing direction to mend the application performance of asphalt. High modulus ashpalt concrete pavement have some merits, such as high modulus, low void, high temperature stability resistance and fatigue resistance, so it applies to middle-layer, low-layer or base course in pavement, and act on transition zone coexisting stiffness and flexible between the subgrade and the pavement. The research of high modulus asphalt pavement have more reality significance to develop new pavement materials and new techniques of our country.Adding PR FLEX MODULE additive to asphalt concrete was adopted to improve the modulus of asphalt concrete in this research. First, the mechanic performance, high temperature performance, low temperature performance, fatigue performance and water stability performance were studied systematically through lab experiment. Second, depending on Fu Gou to Xiang City in Daqing to Guangzhou highway engineering, A field pavement engineering about 530m was paved successfully. The construction controlling and technology guide of high modulus ashpalt pavement was improved, the flexure was Investigated and detected after 1 month,3 monthes,8 monthes when the field pavement finished. At last, The method of LCCA (Life Cycle Cost Analysis) was applied to analyse the economy of high modulus asphalt pavement.Lab experiment result shows that the mechanic performance, high temperature performance, fatigue performance and water stability performance of high modulus ahsphalt concrete were all superior to normal ashpalt concrete, but it’s low temperature performance less than normal shpalt concrete. The result of field experiment pavement show that the key construction technology of high modulus asphalt pavement is that the mixing time, mixing temperature and compaction temperature should be controlled. Investigating and detecting the pavement flexure show that entire stiffness of high modulus asphalt pavement was improved, i.e. in the same rutting and fatigue performance condition, the pavement thickness was reduced actually. Economic analysis result shows that the Life Cycle Cost of high modulus asphalt pavement less than nomal and SBS modified asphalt pavement, so it has more economic and technological predominance.
