Design And Research Of New Rotary Pressure Filter

The new rotary pressure filter is ideal filtration equipment for solid/liquid separation, it can run automatically and continuously, it is overall closed, clean and safe, so it can filter volatile and hazardous products. The filter is mainly used in the field of pharmacy and food industry which require products clean and healthy strictly and it is also used in the field of chemical industry whose operating requirement is harsh. The filter can filter PTA, protein synthesis, synthesis and semi-synthetic antibiotics, phthalocyanine, methylcellulose, paraffin, melamine and so on in the help of its accurate operating system.In order to design the new rotary pressure filter meeting specified requirements, the author proposes his mechanical design program in this article according to the design theory that suspension filtration, cake washing, cake drying, cake discharge, filter cleaning can be accomplished in one process on a single filter under pressure, the author also proposes his own innovative designs for some important parts under the inspiration of structural characteristics of other filtration equipments. This article checks the strength and stiffness of inside drum and outside drum of the new rotary process filter under various loading conditions with the use of ANSYS which is famous finite element analysis software, which is also used to make a fatigue analysis for inside drum to check if life of the filter meets life equipment.The new rotary pressure filter is the first filtration equipment under the similar design method, it has many advantages such as large capacity, adaptability for a wide range of materials, simple ancillary equipment, low operation cost, low equipment acquisition and maintenance cost and so on, so we can popularize this new machine to replace other kinds of filtration equipments in many areas to contribute to our country’s filtration business.
