Abstract/Summary:
We improve the fire proof performance of fire-retardant coating mainly on the basis of flame retardant at present time,which has an effect on coating material’s adhesive property.As the film former of water borne coating,styrene-acrylic emulsion has good physical and mechanical properties.But it was still restricted by its no flame retardant property to a certain degree.In this paper,we point to improve its thermal properties without damaging the physical and mechanical propertiesas of base material(styrene-acrylic emulsion) to the above question.And it is expected to improve the fire proof performance of fire-retardant coating, while combine the preferred of flame retardants.In this paper,layered double hydroxides(LDH) were synthesized by coprecipitation method and modified LDH were synthesized in different surfactant solution by its memory effect.Styrene-acrylic/LDH composites emulsion was synthesized in situ polymerization.And through the conventional performance of the composites tests,as well as use infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),thermogravimetric analysis(TG-DTA) and other means to study the structure and thermal properties of styrene-acrylic/LDH composites ernulsion with different elements layered of modified LDH and with different surfactant and spacer or not.The results showed that the coprecipitation LDH can be prepared by a single crystal.Use of its memory effect,modified LDH can be synthesized in the different anionic surfactant solution with spacer or not to reconformation,it can prevent the competitive intercalation of CO32- anion successfully.The sample of Mg3Al1-SDS-C has higher crystal plane spacing and the value of d003 reached 3.95nm,higer than 3.17nm for the CO32-anion LDH.The exfoliated styrene-acrylic/LDH composites emulsion can be part of synthesized via in situ polymerization,styrene-acrylic/LDH composites emulsion can maintain good normal performance,as well as improved thermal performance.The exfoliated styrene-acrylic/LDH composites emulsion’s normal performance and thermal performance is better than those which were content 5wt%of the LDH and layered metal for MgAl,surfactants for SDS with spacer.The exfoliated styrene-acrylic/LDH composites emulsion was about 20℃higher than that of pure styrene-acrylic emulsion,When the 50wt%weight loss was selected as a comparison point.
