Coking industry create economic benefits at the same time causedserious environmental pollution and ecological damage.With cokingwastewater pollution is most serious,coking industry become one ofthe most serious environmental pollution industry. Coking plant incoking process will produce a large number of high concentrationpollutants,the composition complex, toxic organic wastewater.Thecoking wastewater treatment by different treatments, in addition to apart to be able to be back for coke quenching process, there are still alot of substandard waste water discharge to the environment. Thishas a large number of organic pollutants exceed wastewaterdischarge will make surrounding water, aquatic organisms, such ascrops have a great harm. It will produce toxic to the human bodythrough the food chain,such as wastewater of nitrogenouscompounds can lead to water eutrophication, oil, cyanide, etc.Theymay inhibit fish survival, phenolic compounds can make the proteindenaturation, polycyclic aromatic compounds can be carcinogenicand mutagenic. As a chemical three causes, Benzo [a] pyrene existsin coking wastewater, with the characteristics of refractory is difficuLt to remove, emissions into the environment can cause greatharm to human beings.At present, to remove COD, ammonia nitrogen,etc are mature, removing effect is better also, But for the high toxicityof pahs compounds such as benzene and [a] pyrene removal effect isbad, and the cost is higher, can’t meet the the need of industrialwastewater treatment and discharging standard. Therefore, how toremove the benzene and [a] pyrene in the coking wastewater, in orderto achieve discharge standards is a problem to be solved in industrialwastewater treatment.This article through to compared physical properties, chemicalproperties and benzo [a] pyrene adsorption capacity of three kinds ofhomemade activated carbon, choosed the better performance ofactivated carbon. And used this kind of activated carbon to adsorbedBap in raw coking wastewater.Adopted static adsorption anddynamic adsorption two ways from temperature, pH, mechanizationand adsorption time four aspects to explore can make the Bapadsorption achieve maximum. The resuLts showed that:(1)usingactive carbon adsorption method to remove Bap, the experimentproved to be feasible, activated carbon adsorption method has simpleoperation, good effect and practical characteristics;(2)by comparingthree material activated carbon physical characterization andmethylene blue, iodine and benzo [a] pyrene adsorption performancecharacteristics, confirmed the agricuLtural and sideline productsactivated carbon adsorption performance is the most powerfuL;(3)static adsorption experiments, the4g activated carbon, at20℃, pHfor9to250mL of coking wastewater in the raw water adsorption50minutes, removal rate can reach66.67%, and repeated the experiment operation one time, namely32kg/tons of water, to theBap in coking wastewater removal efficiency can reach98.3%;dynamic adsorption experiment, the4g activated carbon, at20℃, pHof9, water velocity not less than1.84mL/min, removal rate can reach77%, repeated the experiment operation one time, namely32kg/tonsof water, the benzene and coking wastewater [a] pyrene removal ratecan reach98.8%; mechanization and velocity exist y=0.26x+0.8, R~2=0.9657linear relationship, explain mechanization for x, velocity isnot more than y, removal rate can reach the highest;(4) with theincrease of mechanization, the value of the velocity will increase withthe appropriate, if velocity increase big words may be activatedcarbon and coking waste water contact time is not fuLly andinfluence of benzene and [a] pyrene removal.In order to make thecoking wastewater in the water and benzene [a] pyrene removal ratecan reach the highest, and make fuLl use of activated carbon to getmore, had better use dynamic adsorption method of cokingwastewater in the water and benzene [a] pyrene for adsorption.
