Process industry refers to the industry which makes raw materials value-added by separating, mixing, molding or chemical reaction. It has many features, such as high production cost, low automation degree, low machining productivity and low resource utilization. The oil refining production process is discussed in this paper belongs to process industry. The method of modeling analysis by mathematical programming is often carried out in the research of oil refining production system. Oil refining production system is a hybrid production system, it contains discrete event process and continuous production process, so the model includes discrete and continuous variables, It makes the problem of oil refining production become very complex.Oil refining production process includes crude oil unloading, conveying, distribution to distillation towers for fractionation, refined petroleum products storage and transportation. Production scheduling of oil refining production system can be divided into long-term and short-term production scheduling in general. The long-term production scheduling has a longer planning time period and it belongs to strategic production planning, it has many research results and been applied to actual oil refining production system. But the research of short-term production scheduling has been just started and it has not effective methods and techniques. The short-term production scheduling is just a part of artificial operation, which has low efficiency, high requirements for work strength, so it has small optimization space. This paper mainly studies and analyzes the problem of production scheduling feasibility for crude oil production in oil refinery production system. It can be regard as NP-hard problem according to the characteristics of oil refining production system. It includes not only the production resources and technology constraints but also discrete and continuous problems, which makes the problem complicated. Most of the researches about refining process schedulability use the method of mathematical modeling and simulation modeling. Some researches tend to ignore some constraints in the process of establishing model in order to simplify modeling, while those models can not describe oil refinery production problem intuitively. This paper uses mathematical methods to get production schedulability conditions for the crude oil production considering some constraints, such as hightest oil rate of oil pipeline, number of distillation towers and oil tanks, distillation rate of distillation towers and initial stock. And it verifies the production schedulability conditions by using the object-oriented simulation software eM-Plant to establish the model of simulation and solve verification.
