| TM is a US based multi-national company with over one hundred years history, who globally manufactures as famous for innovation. With the high growth of China domestic market, TM wished to construct some new plants and manufacturing facilities, expand the production capacity and enhance the profitability to achieve the goal of leading the domestic market. However, traditional project management techniques can not catch up with the development of modern project management. During the implementation of former project, issues such as actual construction behind schedule, failure to react with emergencies or inappropriate allocation of human resources, are always having impact on project cost control and the best opportunity for products to enter into the market. During TM project, project team learnt the lessons from former project, implement the project scheduling and controlling based on modern project schedule management theory and techniques, and insured the project complete on time. It has significant contribution to SWC Pilot Coater Project business development and future project management in the company.This thesis established the project scheduling and controlling model based on project management technology system. Firstly, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) was used to sort and code the project contents.Each activities time limit was estimated, and Critical Path Method (CPM) was used to calculated after network diagram was developed. On this basis, project scheduling plan came out. Then, some control points were selected for project scheduling control. Earned Value Method was used to analyze the reason of delay and countermeasure was raised. And Scheduling plan was adjust accordingly. Difference between the schedule and actual progress was compared and analyzed by Earned Value management to draw the implementation plan to optimize and adjust the project schedule. Finally, this thesis summarized the successfully experience of TM SWC Pilot Coater Project, and also raises some suggestions as the reference of effective control and management of project schedule for TM and the industry. |
