The remote water monitoring equipment for image data collection by streamlining embedded system. Use3G+GPRS wireless communication, the collected image data transmission to the network terminal.Remote image transmission based on embedded system is an unmanned remote areas important means of image data acquisition. Harsh environment and the equipment requirements are very stringent. Need for stability, power consumption, easy maintenance, security, etc. into account. Embedded system software and hardware can be cut, leaving only and system functions closely related hardware and software, thus greatly reducing the system’s power consumption, but also improve system stability. The system uses image processing Hi3515low-power chips and Linux software platform, and efficient image compression encoding technology JPEG, combined with the use of3G+GPRS network to realize the goal of reservoir water quality monitoring equipment status monitoring.Combination of simulation and experiment conduct theory and practice mutual authentication in this thesis. Because the system collected a very large amount of image data, the current storage space and remote transmission of broadband is difficult to achieve. In this paper, MATLAB for JPEG image compression coding algorithm simulation analysis, under conditions of high compression ratio can still get better image quality, making efficient JPEG image compression encoding technology to become the theoretical basis of system implementation. In the experiment, the whole system of image acquisition, compression, transmission, decompression and other functions to achieve the desired effect, from the point of view of the image analysis applications, and can basically meet the project on-site equipment maintenance needs.This issue is an important part of water monitoring programs. Accurate, timely and comprehensive picture of water quality status and trends of water environment management, pollution control, environmental planning, provide a scientific basis for the entire water protection, water pollution control, and maintenance of water environmental health plays a vital role.
