China’s rare earth resources are rich, wide variety, large amount of mining. Peoplebring benefits in the development and utilization of rare earth at the same time, also toour country environment is caused by the direct or indirect influence. The developmentand utilization of associated mineral resources may be radioactive environmental impactis one of them.Associated mineral is to contain higher levels of natural radionuclidesconcentrations of non uranium. Several representative associated mineral: vanadium ore,phosphate rock, coal, bauxite, nickel, molybdenum, rare earth ore, lead-zinc mine.Associated minerals development and utilization of mineral elements required inaddition to extract, natural radionuclides will also be associated with U-238, Th-232,Ra-226, K-40, higher levels of human exposure to the ground environment, and with theprocessing, smelting, waste ore discharge and transfer to the product, by-products and"three wastes", endanger human health, causing radioactive pollution of the environment.Therefore, the associated minerals of radioactivity measurement and analysis ofradiation, not only provide the basic data and scientific basis for the formulation ofradioactive pollution prevention measures, to strengthen our country has importantsignificance of associated mineral resources management.In this paper, the process characteristics associated with rare earth ore mining anddressing of Baotou city Baiyunebo summed up the associated minerals in thedevelopment and use of radionuclide transfer pathway in the process of. According tothe way summed up the radioactive pollution source and the corresponding pollutionkey factor: gamma radiation, radon and its progeny, the total alpha natural radionuclides238U,232Th,226Ra,40K,, total beta. And introduced in the associated mineral environmentwas measured, using the different pollution factor of different instruments and differentmeasurement methods.Taking Baotou city Baiyunebo associated rare earth mine as the research object, onthe basis of field investigation and laboratory analysis, elaborated on the influencedegree of mining and washing process of external environment. Finally, a comprehensive analysis of the evaluation results, the paper presents an radioactivepollution prevention and control measures.
